Rainbow Pasifika/LGBTQI+ Resources

Pacific Health Plus recognises that a healthy Pasifika community is one where everyone’s needs are acknowledged and valued

Pacific Health Plus aims to inform, ignite and equip Pasifika communities and work towards creating change to help all those in the Pacific Community. We hope to aid individuals in reaching their full potential so that our families and communities feel empowered.

Rainbow is an umbrella term that is used to describe individuals who do not identify as heterosexual or those who do not fit standard gender norms. Rainbow covers all those who identify as lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning or intersex (LGBTQI+).

We are all pearls from the Pacific and our LGBTQI+ community within is Mahu (Hawai’i and Tahiti), Vaka salewa lewa (Fiji), Palopa (Papua New Guinea) Fa’afafine (Samoa) Akava’ine (Rarotonga), Fakaleiti (Tonga), Fakafifine (Niue) or in short (MVPFAFF+).

Rainbow individuals (LGBTQI+ and/or MVPFAFF) are important and vital people of the Pasifika community with an evolving population.
